I finally got through to Beverly Haynes, Colt archivist since Kathy Hoyt's retirement, confirmed to me today that this sixgun was made 11/28/1940 and shipped from Colt on 12/3/1940. And it was AND STILL IS A .357!!!

One of only 628 made! She said the information was scant as to original configuration on these late SAAs and the forthcoming letter would confirm manufacture date, shipping date and caliber and any other available info. Being that the box is for 7 1/2" it is all obviously original AND WITH THE KING WORK!!

Woohoo! ' klmgzdo;

Does it letter as having been shipped to Kings? Hope you didn't have to take out a second mortgage for the Factory Letter.

If it proves to have been shipped to Dean King I'll just plotz! I don't think I can take any more good news!
