This Colt Python is one of my other shooters in .357 Magnum caliber (along with my 28-2). It shoots great and balances very well in my hand.

Doc,
You call that a "shooter" ? It sure looks minty to me. Makes my 66 blue Python 4 incher look plumb wore out. But is sure is a great shooting .357 mag. even with the Goodyears it wears.

It's nice, I bought a mossberg 500 12 gauge shotgun years ago. It came with a riot barrel complete with heat shield and pistol grip. It became my home defense gun because the wife could hit with it. Loaded it with 00 buck, slug, and #4 buck. Seems like that should do the trick for me. What do you think?
Doc.
Pythons are a good gun to shoot. At a target or with a camera.
Here is my attempt to photograph. This one is a little later than yours. It is one of the Colt Guard E-Nickel finish guns. Has grips that looked good, but have silver medallions.

Two nice Colts from two Bills, very nice!
Two very nice Pythons! :)
Doc,
Your Python is identical to the very first revolver I ever owned. I loved shooting it.
My brother had an Anaconda, but my Python would shoot circles inside of his patterns.
I had to sell it to stay out of some serious troubles I caused myself.
I wish I had never sold it. That really brought back some good memories of the 70's.

the python i shoot often is from 1969...shoots veryyyyy well
Doc: Nice looking Python! I bought mine because of its reputation. I never cared for the Colt double action. A very competent gunsmith friend did a little of his magic on the mainspring, took less than 5 minutes, and I had a very light and smooth double action. It is now a show off piece, when friends experience the trigger pull double action, they are somewhat amazed. The finish on mine is nickel.

Welcome to the forum. That combination should work just fine. Feel free to start your own thread in the long gun forum and post some pics.
