Finished cleaning my 1973, 4" 28-2 a little while ago, and replaced the factory target grips I had on it with the original magna's. Personally I prefer the look of the magna's over the target grips, but the beefier targets do help with shooting the fireball loads. A few pics...( love gun porn!)

So what would you prefer for grips?

Been feeling pretty well. Thanks for asking Daryl. Son is doing the online thing for school. I've been doing small projects and cleaning guns. My ex wife is doing well considering she has Lupus. No signs or symptoms with my son and I. Feel bad for my coworkers because of the patient caseload I can't help them with. If things continue to be uneventful I can return back to work on the 23rd.

Great looking 28. I do prefer the Targets for shooting. Fits my hands better. Glad still feeling good.

Nice looking 28 Curt. The magnas look good, but are too small for me. Actually I like something in between the magna and targets which is why I modify some of my grips by taking off a little on the front and back corners. Sacrilege based on todays ridiculous prices, but I want to enjoy shooting my guns and hit what I am aiming at more often.

Curt, that's a good looking model 28.. might I suggest a Tyler-T with those magnas? Makes a big difference in the feel.

Have been meaning to get myself a few Tyler -T's. I do like how they look, add to the firearms appearance as well as aid with grip. Would like to get a SS and black set. Have just never gotten around to ordering.

Here is a pic with the factory targets I had on it before I took it to the range quite a few times, then eventually cleaning it.

Hogue Monogrip. Period. Since I discovered them, I have to have them on everything now. Magna grips are too tiny. Target grips are too huge at the bottom, and horrible, horrible, horrible knuckle knockers. The Monogrip is about as close to perfect for me as possible.

Pachmayr Grippers are also good, but quality/fit is hit or miss, it seems.

If you have large hands like me, you may find that the Tyler T grip rams your middle finger into the triggerguard pretty hard. I find T grips unbearable. The long-discontinued Pachmayr grip adapters are better (and look better), but I still have knuckle interference problems with them. The "Large" ones that fill up the most behind the triggerguard work the best for me.

Great looking 28's everyone! I have wanted an N frame 357 for some time, and have even had the chance to buy one, a time or two. Never seemed like the time was right, as there was something else pulling me away.
I hope to get my hands on one in the next year or so. If the Covid crap ever goes away, and I can feel safe going to gun shows again, maybe some one will have one for sale.
Not one show this whole year, and I am really missing that. Great fun, or it used to be..
