I recently found 2 mags like this in my dads gun bag, he says its for an old browning but it says s & w on the bottom so im not sure thats correct, theyre also single stacked 9mm as well. i cant seem to find anything similar to this mag on google either so this is kinda my last bet

Maybe the old 39 series?

yea thats pretty much the closest thing i can find, would my dad be mistaken thinking that was a browning hi-power? he said it was his old service pistol when he was a deputy

I'm also thinking model 39 S&W also the Browning Hi Power is a double stack mag if that's the browning your referring to. IIRC Browning did make 9 mm's that took a single stack mag.

No, the Hi-Power is a double stack mag, that's a single stack for the 39 and 39 only.

I believe the model 39 magazines were also used by others. If you go to Midway USA and search on the 39 mags, it'll tell you everything it fits.
