I'm interested in buying a bunch of 30.06 from CMP for use in practice with an old Remington 721. Ammo available is Greek Pyrkal HXP and Lake City. Both M2 ball, both boxer primed, both non-corrosive, both are listed as "attracting a magnet". My interest, as I mentioned, is in practice with a new-to-me gun and in saving the brass for reloading.
Anything I should be aware of before purchase? WHich would you choose?

Because of requirements stipulated by their insurance carriers, some rifle ranges don't allow FMJ ammo, and some ranges that allow FMJ ammo don't allow Armor Piercing rounds (AP). Rounds loaded with bullets that "Attract a Magnet" will likely be considered Armor Piercing.

If you don't check on FMJ restrictions first, you might be saddled with a batch of ammo that you can't shoot at your local rifle range.
