Beretta M9A1 vs Beretta 92A1: Is One Better? Is There Even A Difference?

beretta-92a1-vs-beretta-m9a1.jpg

If you're looking for a big double-stack but won't have a darn thing to do with tactical Tupperware, two guns you might wind up considering are the Beretta 92A1 vs. M9A1. You might further ponder just what the heck the difference actually is...and if it's worth paying for.

The answer?

There are some differences, but they're subtle; there's nothing overwhelmingly different about one compared to the other. However, the differences that are there might add up for some people.

What I'd really like to have is a Beretta 93R.

The Beretta 93R is mechanically similar to the Beretta 92. It can be selected to fire either a three round burst or single fire. A selector switch enables the operator to alternate between the two firing modes. The pistol is fitted with a vertical foregrip at the front end of the trigger guard to provide better stability when firing. A folding steel buttstock can be attached at the heel of the grip. The 93R is considered difficult to control when being repeatedly fired in burst mode because of the 1,100-round-per-minute firing rate.

I bought a used like new Beretta Model 92A1 with three 17 rd mags with over $300 worth of Wilson Combat parts for $615.00.

I'm going to buy at least one 20 rd mag for it and the threaded barrel.

I just wish there was a laser guide rod made for it.
