Let's say you have a 12 ga. with a 28" full choke barrel (using #8), then replace it with a 26" with the same full choke barrel and #8. Will the shot pattern be different or relatively the same from shortening it by 2"? Without concern as to "why", I was just wondering if barrel length changes in relation to shot patterns or is it only dependent on the choke. Thanx.

I have found barrel length makes no difference in shot pattern density measured at the same distance if using the same choke constriction and same shell.
Thanx. I wasn't sure that was the case so I needed an opinion from someone who knows more than me on the subject, which is most likely anyone reading this. But as far as using the same shell, I only reload for handgun (jk).
