Now the work begins. Got drawn for Bull Elk in unit 6A. It's the same area where I shot the spike in 04 with the muzzle loader. This hunt is for center fire rifle. I'll be taking the Model 70 in 300 Win Mag and the Encore in 7X307 {For a shot less than 100 yds}.
The hunt runs from Nov. 27 through Dec. 3
Am I happy, No.

Some of the biggest elk hide in the canyons of 6A. The biggest elk I ever saw was in 6A. We have seen heards of about 80 in some of the meadows there. If there is enough rain, Mormon Lake will have water in it and they will stick around
