I really like the square butt J frames. Fits my hand well. Don't feel I need a grip adapter or anything.

Here are three.

A 36-1 heavy barrel, a 37 3 inch, and a 31-1.

In addition, I have a 37 snubbie.

Let's see some pictures.

Not much to do here in California except surf the net since we can't go out.

I always felt that I shot them better then the round butts! they seem to fit my hand better ...
I'm with Layne on this one. The round butts get lost in my paw.

They help on a short one ,,,,,,

But become a necessity when the barrel goes over 3".

I have a couple. The new version...

And the old.

The first one is a 32 RP, pre model 31, a true SB frame. It's wearing a set of after market J frame target stocks.
The latter is an early RP I frame with a modified round butt and the then newly designed square butt stocks.

I always preferred the look of the square butt J. But found I like carrying the round butt better. So, I guess I like them both.

I have three as well.
A M43 no dash, a M34-1, & a M36 no dash target model. I agree 100% with the OP. Much better grip with no adapter of any kind of add ons.
