I have three Smiths, one of which is a model 22 which, although modern, has the retro styling reminiscent of the older revolvers from the early part of the century. I really like the looks of it. I was wondering if there are any early magnums that do not have the more modern, ramp style front sight, instead having the old half moon sight like Military and Police or early model 10's.

I believe that the only "357 Magnum" with the half moon sight would be a very few 38/44 Heavy Duty that were modified by recutting the 38 Special chambers 1/10" deeper to chamber .357 Magnum by their owners much to the concern of Smith & Wesson. That is not a proper modification and was not done much. One of the extensive 38/44 collectors recently wrote that of all the many 38/44s that he has seen and owned he had only seen 3 that were bored out to 357 Mag.
