mrerick,

Not disputing - where do you get your numbers?

8 million?

And now, yes, I'll be a tad contentious: Are you anti-OC?

A lot of folks get their CHL or LTC and never touch their gun again well before carrying was cool...

In general, these new gun owners are probably no less trained or motivated to learn than many others who bought handguns 20 years ago never to bother with further training/practice and the streets haven't run red with blood...so...

OC is legal in Texas.

One of the other pluses about it is: “Brief and inadvertent exposure” while reaching the top shelf in the grocery store is 'No problem' assuming you have a License to Carry.

So, even those who don't care to OC also benefit...

BK,

I agree with the camoed OC guy being tasteless, but if what he's doing is legal, it's legal.

I see people wearing gawd-awful, garish clothing and dressing like utterly tasteless clowns, but what they wear is none of my business. I wear conservative clothing, but I wouldn't dream of trying to be a 'fashionista'.

What the 'other guy' does within the bounds of law whether it's tasteless or you 'think' it besmirching of us gun carriers isn't germane.

What the other guy does is strictly his business whether you agree with his taste or not.

Bob,

I don't base my very occasional OC carry because it may give some 'tree hugger' the vapors, they can faint dead away and I'd just laugh...not being snarky, just don't base my decisions on some pusillanimous (love that word) nitwit's hoplophobic fear.
