I just bought this at an auction. It have been slightly modified There are two numbers, one on the butt and one inside the crane. Which one is the serial number?
Yes I heard this. I wish I could get a history on it. It looks like it was carried. The work is nicely done too it's blued over as if it was done at the factory.Someone gave it a Fitz job. That's a large bore revolver, with barrel cut down and trigger guard cut away in the front. Its a concept pioneered by John Henry Fitzgerald. He was a Colt employee prior to the 40's. Rex Applegate, Charles Lindberg and Clyde Barrow were known to carry a Fitz Special
it can be done by shaving the rear of the cylinder, but that wont allow the use of the orig 455's - that's also how the typical 45 acp conversion was done. Thanks! What is required to get them to shoot .45 Colt? I know the rim is larger.
