516D453E-7007-450D-AE04-7275EDEE5ECF.jpeg Hi,
Just exploring the possibilities of ammunition for a .38 S&W.
I have two boxes of Buffalo Bore .38 S&W Ammunition 20 Rounds Lead HC-FN 125 Grains 20.5A/20
The pistol is in very good condition, but I need some guidance on firing smokeless cartridges or not.
Thank you.

Looked it up on the Buffalo website... DO NOT use that in any old top break! It is rated at 1000 fps, pretty hot stuff, and is intended for the newer and stronger Hand Ejector revolvers.
Remington's 146 gr RN lead factory ammo is milder stuff. I've used it in my old S&W top breaks and then reload the brass with light Bullseye or Trail boss loads.
