I have been having some issues with my sacroiliac joint over the last couple of years. Of course, as a healthcare professional I tried to fix it myself with some exercises and stretching and it helped a little, but has become a little worse:rolleyes:. I went to see a chiropractor for the 1st time to see of he could help the situation. This was a big step for me as I usually won't let anyone mess with my spine, especially with the 2 broken backs I have experienced but I had to do something. I found out that because of my SI joint being out of alignment that my pelvis rotated, my R hip is 1" higher than the L, and my L leg is 1/2" longer than the other:oops:, but I expected as much as I let this progress. Had my first "adjustment" yesterday and boy am I sore this morning. I Know this will be worth it in the long run to get me back in shape. This treatment and the stretching will resolve the issue over time so I can get back to doing the more physical activities I enjoy.
I hate to be hypocritical but I am guilty as charged because of the advice I give my patients regarding not putting things off, getting things checked out ASAP. I will hopefully be back in shape soon and plan to use this experience as an example to others in regard to maintaining their health and well being. Wish me luck everyone.

Hey Curt, I'd be dead if it wasn't for my chiropractor. He has helped me more than my family Doc has over the years. I just went to get my hip "adjusted" and I'm on the mend. I just wish health care coverage worked for a Chiro visit. I also take a 500 mg Tylenol after my visit.....fwiw Good Shoot'n!

Good luck Curt. Back pain is very hard to deal with I know because my wife suffers with it. She has been seeing specialist for her pain and is now on a new medication.

I have been using an acupuncturist, I am tired of western medicine with all the pain meds they prescribe.

About 30 years ago my mother nagged and nagged me to go to her doctor, an osteopath. He asked me about my back pain and then sat on the table behind me, grabbed hold of my left arm, pulled it across me til my shoulder was where my chest had been. He reached around me from the other side and squeezed me real hard. I could hear and feel every one of my vertebrae pop like cracking knuckles and it took the wind out of me. That left me pain free for the next 6 months I've never heard nor seen of one of those doctors in practice that I know of since.

The disks between my top lumbar and bottom thoracic vertebrae were damaged in a car accident when I was a high school sophomore. I put a 70 Camaro upside down in a ditch and leveled the roof hood to trunk on the driver's side.
Over the years I have thrown it out a few dozen times. Most of the time I recover after a couple of days, but there have been half a dozen times that I gimped around for a couple of weeks or more without improvement. I had to have a Chiropractor or Osteopath "adjust me" to correct the problem.
Every time it has been worth it. Insurance coverage or not, just getting rid of the pain has been worth every dime.
I hope it works out that way for you too.
