Adding a can to my new 15-22 pistol

First post :)

I've had a 15-22 rifle since they came out and have loved it, so when the new pistols came out I decided to grab one vs SBR'ing my rifle or paying freak money for one of the old ones. I picked up a new pistol from Al's Sporting Goods at a great price and took it home to tear it down & put a can on it.

Problem is there is zero real estate to put a barrel vise on in order to remove the flash hider. Removing the hider from my rifle was a PITA & so tight I had to put a torch on it to get it off.

Any secrets to doing this??

Thanks!!!

Got it. I ended up putting my homemade barrel nut wrench down over the flash hider, & removed the nut. That allowed me to slide the handguard down towards the muzzle and put the rear part of the barrel in my vise. Next I slid a large flat-blade screwdriver through the MLOK slots into the slots on the flash hider. Quick twist and it popped loose.

Way easier that taking the one off my rifle lol.
