I'm working on a project to fit an alternate .22 mag cylinder assembly for a model 17-5 .22 LR.

I have a line on a K22B cylinder assembly and need advice on the adaptability of the 'pre 17 - K22 yokes/extractor stars to the later model
Thanks.

Don't know if cylinders are interchangeable, but I'd be more concerned about some unpleasant lead or powder spitting when the larger mag bullet hit the smaller LR forcing cone. Revolvers designed to fire both rounds had a .224 mag bore, which meant no problem with .223 LR bullets, except maybe somewhat less accuracy.

If that is a problem, I think re-tapering the forcing cone might solve it.
Of course, I've got to get 'there' first!'
Thanks
