I was a security guard in Tucson Arizona, when I went to school there. I bought my used model 10, and got no on-the-job training. Theoretically, ready to rock and roll.

Lucky me, I had handled guns, including revolvers. My instructions about gun use from the un-named security company: "If that gun comes out of your holster on the job, someone better be dying, or look like they are going to be dying!"

Got it. Moribund.

I was on duty at a new event in Tucson. Teens only dance and social at a large hotel. Hundreds of 19 year olds to 16 years came. It was formal and turned out to be a massive event. Two security guards and two off duty Tucson officers. The no alcohol teen event that someone visualized quickly started turning sour.

Old lechers looking for young girls came, and were turned away at the door. They were ticked. Gang bangers and twenty something and thirty something adults came, who were also denied entry. The mood of the would be revelers turned foul, and the race card got thrown down with claims of racism.

The other security guard helped tackle one guy, who tried to force his way in, while the officer tried to handcuff the struggling man solo. My job was to keep the "revelers" off the two of them, while the other cop warded off the other half of the crowd. He had his baton out, and it was clear he was going to use it if he needed to. I wished I had anything, like a baton or pepper spray, rather than the S&W. I continually put my hand on it to make sure it was not grabbed out of my holster.

4 patrol cars, k-9 unit and helicopter showed up. Some challenged the dog handler, who warned people repeatedly. He dropped 15 foot of line, bracing himself when the 110 pounds of German Shepherd hit the end of the line. The problem child the dog picked out lost interest in the fracas, when the fangs were 2 feet from him. The Tucson PD quelled the whole thing quickly, which was never held again.

Fast forward 43 years.

I see today, Portland, Oregon police cannot use tear gas anymore. One more non-lethal tool gone from the toolkit. And from my "rent a cop" experiences, for what they are worth: It seems desirable to have a range of options at hand. And this tool grabbing is happening nationwide, in liberal cities.

So, here is the new range of options.

Regular Joe cop will resort to fatherly advice, progressing to harsh words for the peaceable protestors. He/she will likely leave the taser at home. Too violent for mayors wanting re-election.

They will end up dead or disabled in this environment. And the only chokeholds used will be against the cops.

Rubber bullets will go the way of the Dodo.

Were National Guardsmen not just recently sent in, or suggested to be sent in to a riot without firearms. That will work. Ya shure, ya betcha!

If they are left with just guns, it will force an officer to escalate a situation straight from 0 to full tilt, with no intermediate measures. I would think more would die.

I pray for our police. Many are not getting support from politicians who are playing with their lives in the name of appeasement. Cops that remain on the job without support *of every kind * are either brave to a fault, have a suicide wish or public servants we don't deserve.

And when they have collectively parted, from lawless municipalities, we will be at the mercy of these peaceful protestors.

All in the name of appeasing liberals, undocumented democrats and criminals, violent and otherwise, who the liberals are freeing so they can do more of the same.

Politically correct simply isn't.

Police have less than lethal tools so that they don't have resort to lethal force.

Why do police have to use force? That's something that seems lost on all these deluded self absorbed politicians and their government support dependent lackeys.

Leftist liberal progressive Democrat lead cities attract non-productive government dependent people for a reason. It simply appears easier to live there supported by myriad government programs and resources. If you don't want to earn your way in society, what could be better?

Problem is that it's unrealistic to expect a minority of productive citizens to support a majority of dependent people through an every shrinking tax base. That puts the leftist, liberal progressive politicians into a bind, because they can no longer afford basic services that all Americans expect from government. As cities deteriorate, their tax base evaporates - but their government dependent subjects don't. The programs themselves can't continue to do the job they were created to do, so they deteriorate. When government dependent people find that the programs that sustain them have evaporated (in fact, if not in name), they get restless.

The delusion here is that once people realize that the politicians have been lying to them, it's too late. That's when the sociopaths come out, motivate these deluded people to rioting and further destroy their business districts and tax bases. The delusion is that it's a result of racism, but it's not. It's a result of socialism gone sour.

I wish every cop in every riot-torn liberal city that can retire or move to a job elsewhere would do so. Imagine those cities with 25% of the normal police left to handle things? That would start to grt the sttention of their governors, especially when the tax revenue dries up, the tourists stop coming and the cities start to look like Dresden in WWII.

I would prefer the police be respected and allowed to do their job, everywhere in America. In the absence of police, it won't be Antifa pajama boys or BLM that moves in, it will be MS13 and drug cartels that will overtake cities. Need to vote Lefty imbeciles out of office and replace them with men and women who will have the backs of LEOs.

God bless president Trump.
