A friend from work asked me to help ID this for him. Looks to be a Pre-model 10 snubbie. He verified it is definitely 38 Spl. even though you can't see it from the pics. Based on the serial number and if I'm reading the book right, 1943-48, does that sound right to you guys? I don't know what his intentions are with it, sell, keep, I don't know, but he had it packed away in one of his gun safes and had forgotten about it. Here's some photos:

That is just beautiful.
With that serial number I'd say 1947-48.
I'd love to have that one, hope he's got the box too.

Concur on the date. The stocks look like they would be original to this gun, and he should check for a serial number. If not original, with those squarish shoulders they are age-appropriate.

I have one in that same time frame and dosen't look near as good. That's kind of a back door hint.:)
