Well I got a nice set of grips off a gentleman and decided to clean the gun up and put them on for some pics.

Re: Some new pics of my 6" 629 P&R No Dash with Factory grips

Looks great!
It's amazing how much better a revolver looks with the right set of grips.

You got that right! I love the way it looks. But I took them off and put them away. I will only keep them for "looks" because I do not want to mess them up.

I have this thing for wood grips on revolvers. Even a poor set looks better than goodyears. Your set looks 'right' and at home!

Really Nice lookin guns Gents !!

Pinned and Recessed 629`s are a great find !!

PSU you`d be surprized , those factory Targets really hold up well . You just have to be careful Loading and unloading and most definitly , No speed loaders unless they are the newer style with the large cut-out !!

Well Done greatpost

Re: Some new pics of my 6" 629 P&R No Dash with Factory grips

I can attest to Ralph's warning of NO SPEERDLOADERS!!! I put a couple of nicks in my 95%+ M-67, trying to use a speedloader with the old style (correct) K target grips. I don't use speedloaders anymore, but I put on some rosewood S&W targets with the cut-out. (a little late.....don't ya' think! tnbtlaa nhvaoavo )

It may not be "correct"......but, not being a collector  , it doesn't matter. They look fantastic.....better than the original rubber Pach's that came stock. (Which I use on my 'shooter' 4" M-10.) Bob

I own a 629-3 that has those same grips on it. For a long time I thought they were correct but now realize that the right ones would be the Goncalos with the speed loader cut out. I like these so well that I plan to let it keep wearing them however.
Those are really great looking examples you guys have.
