Well, brand new, and right away I'm asking a question in sure has even asked 1000 times but...I would like to know how old my pistol really is. Ser. # VDV6xxx. Anyone with a resource's response is greatly appreciated.

Your serial number isn't specifically listed in the catalog, so I'll have to give it the best guess we can.
UAMxxxx is 1997 - VHNxxxx is 1998, so somewhere in the middle.
The 5906 is a great pistol and has been used by thousands of LEO's for protection and duty guns.
I have mine, and you're in good company having that in your possessions.

It's been said the the 5906/6906 are the best 9mm pistols ever produced. and I'm not going to argue the point at all. Mine is a perfect shooter and a pleasure to shoot with any type of ammo or bullet wieght.
