Just got this a few days ago to add to my meager collection. 581. According to the 4th addition it is one of the first year run AAA 42xx. Definitely not mint but in really good shape. When I took the grips off I found a bit of rust, but not horrible.

That is nice. Have never seen a 581 in the wild. Those would be a great carry gun in a 3 inch

Fixed sights (service sights) certainly have their place..........I'm a fan and have always had several revolvers equipped with them (once dialed-in, nothing to go wrong).

Great looking revolver, looks quite a bit like the N frame M520. Wonder why it was such a short production run of only 8 years?

Very nice. Kind of a model 10 in an L frame.. I saw one at an out door flea market, a couple years ago.
The finish was pretty rough, and I dont remember what the asking price was.
