Back when Walmart was closing out handgun stuff I picked up a box of 45 caliber, 185gr Hornady XTP’s for $9.99. I‘ve loaded 200gr & 230gr XTP’s many times but never the 185 grain bullets. Finally got around to it this evening. I decided to make a plus p load.
These use 8.3gr of BE-86.
Regular pressure max with this powder is 7.9gr. The plus p max is 8.8gr so I am pretty much right between the two

Those should do well, jonesy! I’ve used many different handgun and rifle bullets from Hornady. Always got excellent results from their game bullets in my .308 and 7mm rifle bullets! Never tried there pistol bullets on live targets, thank God! Hank

Hornady 185 XTP,s are very accurate in all of my .45's. Recoil is somewhat lower than with 230's as well. I think you will enjoy loading and shooting them.
