Just retired this summer, working on hunny-do list(s) but starting on over due gun problems. Have a Highway Patrol (1957) 357 that was very hard to turn cylinder and found one "flat" on ratchet dragging on recoil plate so I filed it a little and now will turn with hammer or trigger. I could not find a new or used one on line but should the ratchet and hand be replaced anyway?

It does work but seems very close on timing/lock-up especially double action.

Very close? If it's going into battery - cylinder turns all the way, lock snaps into place w/ minimal play & little or no endshake it sounds like it's fine.

Welcome to the forum from NE Georgia. Glad that it sounds like back into operation again.
