Ran into a oddball .44 Mag from about 1958. Short barrel 4" in really nice condition. The extractor rod is a LH thread and the cylinder is marked L. The really strange thing is that the cylinder is marked with the frame number plus a B(next to a diamond). So I am assuming the cylinder is replaced by S&W. Perhaps the B is a Blued marking...

Anyrate, after the Red Neck Shoot I'll post some pics with all the markings. Wanta let the boyz' pick it apart and chew on it for awhile, first.... ;)

Is there a finish stamp in the ejector rod cut out? "B" or "N"? Hows about under the stock on the grip frame R-N or R-S?

Drew,

It's sitting in one of the safes back home. Like you I'm doing the road trip.

Haven't had time to really take this one apart...so you and the boys can have the fun of taking it apart on Saturday. Think you'll appreciate the rework marks on this one. I'll post some pics for everybody else on Sunday after the shoot....
