A good friend of mine has a real nice 386SC Air Weight Mountain Lite 357 Revolver. He is a master wood worker and wants to make some new grips for this gun. The grips currently on the gun are factory and there is no visible screw or connector holding them on the frame. How in the heck do you get these grips off without tearing them or the revolver up.

Help me out here and I'll make him send me a pic with the new grips installed and I'll show them to all of ya'll.

Thanks

Hogue Bantam grips. They make a little plastic tool for that. Its kind of U shaped and the legs taper like wedges. You could use a couple old credit cards or something and slide them in between the rear of the grip where it meets the backstrap on each side. Now work a second pair into each side and kind of pry out while pulling the grip down and off. Once you get it split open wide enough it will pop off the retaining pins and just slide loose, but don't stretch it too wide or they could break
Here is a link to instructions from Hogue

You can get away with a couple of credit card type cards inserted like skullaero's pic
