Thank you in advance. I have had this pistol for many years. At some point in its life it was modified to a 4” barrell and plated. My assumption is that the owner that carried it was law enforcement, as the plating is worn off in the area of the thumb placement. In addition, note the two notches cut into the original wooden grips. The meaning of that can be left to the imagination. Serial # 245965
