.38 S&W Special CTG

Please help me identify my .38 S &W special CTG. It was a gift from grandpa and he can't remember where or when he got it. Would just like to know how old it is and whether its safe to use +P ammo. The serial number is K768XXX. Thanks for any help. View attachment 467239

There is one photo attached to this post. I accidentally posted twice and the other one has more photos. I identified it as a K38 Combat Masterpiece. Thank you for giving me the year. Is +P ammo safe for it?
Might have shipped in very early 1968. If it has a model # it is safe for +P. Given that serial number it would be a Model 15 4" barrel more than likely if it is a Combat Masterpiece.
