Hello everyone. This is my first time on this forum. I have a 3" barrel S&W model 10 revolver. It was manufactured for the Turkish Police in I believe in the late 70s or early 80s. As most of you know, S&W never made a model 10 in a 3 " barrel. I cannot find ANYTHING about this piece on the web ANYWHERE! It's been very frustrating. I hope someone can help me with any info on this gun. I inherited it from my dad. He once told me it's an overrun from a Turkish contract with S&W, and only a few were ever sold in the U.S. It's never been fired and it's still in the original box! I'm sure it's valuable since S&W never made a 3 " barrel model 10, and no S&W collection can be complete without one. Please, if anyone can help, please let me know. Thank You, Matt S.
Smith and Wesson made many Model 10’s with 3” Barrels. I have several. They were made in blue and nickel. Offered as a special order in the 60’s and became regular catalog items in the 70’s IIRC. One of my favorite shooters was a special order square butt ordered for a deputy in 1961. I have a couple of RB shipped in the 70’s.

Hi guys & gals. As hard as I've tried, I just cannot get anyone to commit to even a round-about ballpark figure on the approx. value of this beauty. Most people I've spoken to, or chatted with, agree that's it's valuable, but no one will commit to a figure. Is it really that hard to value, or is it like one gentleman told me; That I have to have it appraised by pros. If anyone can help. please.....DO! Thanks for all the help you've all been to me! 😎 p.s. I remembered today that a letter of authenticity already exists on this piece from Smith & Wesson, written by the late, great, Roy Jinks! I'm going to my storage this week where I keep my dad's things. I will find it. Dad was pretty meticulous. 😎😎.
i have a modest 3” K frame collection. Attached picture is missing 4-5 that I picked up in the last few months. With that being said, the 3” 38’s (mod 10 & 64) bring less than the comparable .357 magnums (model 13 & 65. Model 66 is in a different zone itself). Watching auctions, forums and classified ads I would say your gun would sell for $650-700 from person to person. In a gun shop probably $50 more depending on location. On GB Auction all bets are off. Ii just depends on who sees it and if you get a couple of motivated bidders, it could go for more. If it were passed down to me it would be priceless. I’d shoot the snot out of it and get mote enjoyment than any amount of money I could get
