Thinking out loud

I’ve been looking at a 27-2 locally that is not selling. It’s definitely shooter grade and has a 8 3/8 inch barrel. I really have no interest in that length barrel, and no barrels seem to be available in the usual places online. If I were to have it cut to say, 3 1/2 what are good sight options?

Also, when would N36xxx have been manufactured?

I would keep looking you may never be happy with it. You will have it cut and then it will need a re-finish with a new front sight installed.$$$$$$$$

At the price that I think I can get it for, and a friend is a gunsmith, so it’ll cost me a bottle of bourbon, I could be all in at 1/2 the cost of a true 3 1/2. I’m mainly wondering what the front sight options are.
