This is from the November 1963 edition of Guns & Ammo Magazine. It shows Klein's Sporting Goods full page ad they ran most every month. You can see the Oswald 6.5 Italian Carcano rifle for $12.88. But what is really interesting are the brand new M1 Garands for $89.00 each. And brand new M1 Carbines for just $78.00 each. Not to mention 1903 Springfield's for $36.38. Even when you factor in inflation, it's painful to look at.

Sad thing is, I remember those prices. When I was 15 my father bought a freshly rebuilt Remington 1903-A3 for $19.95 thru the NRA. We didn’t have so many gun grabbing idiots back then either.

What's painful is that they were in Chicago...............
