I was 67 years old and had no income other than birthday & Christmas cards, and the occasional loose tooth.
I have a 1969 model 15-3, bought used in 2017 for $400. That gun would have cost about $90 back then

Funny how those decimal points move to the right over time...

Can you believe an annual income of about $5,000?

I can remember when new M29's were $400, if you could find one. That was early to mid '70s. $400 was a lot of money then.
Have one.

Bought in '78. Shot lots and lots of Flat Critters with it.

In 1969, a NEW PICK UP TRUCK went for $1900. Not $75,000!

In 1969 I was still in high school. I went into the Army in '71 and stayed 5 years. Bummed around for a year after that until starting as an apprentice at a BMW dealership in very early 1977, making a salary of $75 a week. I couldn't afford to buy guns at that point. Even though I started shooting with my uncles before a teenager and loved guns, I couldn't afford one. Times, and prices, have certainly changed.

Got out of college in 79; bought a new Chevy P/U; $3,000; had to borrow half from my parents back home.
