I have two model 10-5 that I would like info on by the serial #.
The snub nose is #D2492xx and the like new in the box 4" is C9618xx.

I'm new to revolvers. Model 10 snubby is interesting, haven't seen much. Is that rare?

Would be fun to shoot side by side with a 642 to compare as carry guns.

not really.. Model 10's (and pre 10's) are pretty common, and while you see more in the 4" barrel, the 2" snubby shows up regularly. this one is a round butt grip little bit more desireable in todays market , but S&W made it in both round and square..

they really entered S&W mainstream post WW2
