About the mid 1980s IPSC came to our area. When the local club started having matches and started a revolver class, I was interested. A few gun shows later, I found and bought a 1952 target model S&W 25-2 with a 6" barrel. Same guy had a 50 cal ammo can full of full moon clips. I bought a double handfull for about 10 cents apiece. When I go to the range, I carry in one of my bags a cigar box full of loaded full moon clips. On any normal day, that's enough for practice.

    Be Careful,

Total newbie to my 625 JM. Just loaded my first 50 rounds in moon clips. No apparent issues. However, at the range, the cylinder hung up on some of the moon clips and would not rotate. I assumed it was operator error as most worked fine. Suggestions/Advice? Thanks!

Are your clips bent? Even a little can foul things up.

Measure the thickness of the clips. There are different thicknesses for different guns.

    Hey E,

Brass? Revolver brass should be kept separate from Auto brass.

The dings/nicks imparted by the extractor/ejector of the auto, will make life difficult in a revolver.

If, using new ammo, I might suggest Federal.
