If you want to shoot for accuracy use CCI SV or really any SV style ammo. Use that for the precision style shooting on Targets and so on. But for steel targets and stuff like that I shoot Box style High Velocity stuff. Mine is a new model 41, approx. 6 months old. I don't know about the factory spring being week, it is an 8 pound spring. Wolf sell's a 7 pound spring just for SV ammo. The factory Manual states that it will shoot any SAMI spec. 22 lr. ammo. But it also say's if you shoot Hyper Velocity ammo it will need service sooner. This is on page 10 of the owners manual. I never shoot hyper velocity in mine but I do shoot a lot of the Box style (my favorite is 40 grain Remington Thunder Bolts) High Velocity. I shoot all my steel plates at 25 yards with that ammo. I have no problems with any ammo after polishing the chamber on mine, before that it would not extract any style ammo.

Enjoy that pistol, it has turned out to be my favorite.

Any modern style pistol should be able to handle high velocity ammo. The steel is not like it was back in the 50's & 60's
