    VICTORY TRIGGER PROBLEMS

I recently started having a problem with my victory trigger. After a couple of hundred rounds it will get stiff. I can feel the difference in the free travel first. Then the trigger is very hard to pull for several rounds and then it's fine for awhile.
Cleaned and checked it. Saw nothing that would cause a bind.
Went back to the range. Thought i was all set and it started again at the end of the day.
    Anyone have this problem??

Look at the trigger return area if the drag is in both directions. It's possible that there has been some dirt or grit galling affecting the part's ability to slide against the frame. The spring housing is usually polished to high gloss.

Clean and clear inside. Only happens on trigger pull, and not all the time.

I'd pop the sideplate off and give it a good blast with Gunscrubber or non-chlorinated brake parts cleaner.

Hi, Mike. I recently purchased a SW22 Victory, and after about 70 rounds of CCI MiniMags, I began having exactly the same issue you described. Were you able to identify and resolve the issue?

Rather than send it back to Smith and Wesson, I ordered a TandemKross trigger, which I probably would have done anyway, but I'm not confident it will correct the problem. I've seen the problem described elsewhere, but no solutions have been confirmed.

    Best regards,
    -Bill

    Thanks, Guy, for the welcome.

This is an update to my post to Mike above. I did order and install the TandemKross Victory trigger. There was a delay as I lost the small spring for the detent pin that goes on the top of the new trigger. Though warned that it might happen, and I was installing it in a plastic bag to contain the detent and spring should they slip from my grasp, they escaped. I found the detent, but the spring evidently evaporated. So, I ordered several replacements. They arrived yesterday, and I successfully installed the trigger this morning on my first attempt.

This afternoon, I went to the range and ran 200 rounds of CCI MiniMags through the Victory with absolutely no problems! While I hesitate to claim the problem of inconsistent trigger pull has been eliminated, I had no such issues today. In addition, the trigger pull is noticeably lighter. Best of all, it's consistent!

Perhaps others will find this useful.

    -Bill

Hi Mike I also recently purchased a SW22 VICTORY and am having the same trigger problem as you have described.
I did happen to notice after so many rounds that the trigger pull seemed extremely hard to get the pistol to fire a round, this seemed to come about erratically. Upon further inspection and a couple of days of head scratching I noticed that the trigger had side to side play and if you were right handed the trigger would not act up as much as if you shot left handed, it seems that if you pulled the trigger toward the right as you fired there was no problem and if you just happened to pull back straight or to the left the trigger would go to the stop screw and would need some force to fire. haven"t tried to adjust the stop yet. May look into new trigger set.
How did you ever make out?
