Grumpy Halfbreed Explains How We Got Here

Many years ago doctors made house calls, never refused a patient who couldn't pay & as a result were poor. Insurance was started by those doctors as a sort of medical savings plan so people would have a fund to draw from as needed. Since they were paying for it whether they used it or not patients went to the doctor every time they had a sniffle. Of course the doctors didn't want to manage an insurance plan but be doctors & deal w/ things they were trained to do. So the insurance companies became a business operated by accountants looking to make a profit & tried to cut out every possible expense & required proof treatment was needed and doctors had to hire extra office help to handle all the paperwork & everything escalated & went downhill fast. Then along came an unknown, incompetent community organizer w/ no background, experience, credibility or ability to speak w/out a teleprompter named zer0 who used his lack of ability @ anything to "fix" everything. He declared all doctors, no matter their skill or training, work for the same price and installed a sign-up system that not only didn't work but put everyone's personal information on thee internet where it was easy to steal. Doctors left the country. The economy died. Crime became rampant, zer0 blamed religion (even though those who prayed were the only ones still thriving). People bought guns to protect themselves from rampant crime waves in the bankrupt cities. Opposing political parties ran complete idiots against zer0 since they thought that was what the voters wanted. Everything needed was replaced w/ cheap, imported, Chinese junk. Insurance companies couldn't make a profit so they cancelled policies for those who had the nerve to file claims... and all medical care & the economy ground to a halt. So zer0 played countless golf games - after all he had to have something to use up time when foreign diplomats refused to talk w/ him & reason to justify huge security forces when they weren't busy babysitting his daughters on numerous vacations. Then zer0's popularity & credibility went to the lowest of any public figure in the history of the world & since no thinking person believed it was all someone else's fault so to try & save face he went on to "fix" illegal immigration as the finest country in the world devolved into the stone age... I only wish this was a fairy tale instead of an epitaph.

I wont get into things I know not enuff about, but it seemd this Counrty had been Ruined by the Lawyers and Insurance companies in regards to medical care. I saw first hand how it works in Norway, and other of what we call the Old Countries'. You get sick, you go to the clinic or hospital, you are seen by whoever is availinble. If you need a more expearienced doc, they bring one in, Ya need a specialist or surgeon, they bring in the best availible. No one turned away, no "im sorry, your not covered", your treated and then the follow up care is provided. Now im sure some are gonna say but thats Socialism, well I call it caring for ones people. Politics are not involved(as far as i can tell). The Health care is funded by taxes i believe, wish Astrid was home to splain it better. When Insuraance agents and lawyers are brought into medicine, no good can come of it., then i recko im wrong alot Mike

well done, I would be willing to bet that more people will read and understand this (your post) , than read and understood Obama care . it just absolutely astounds me that our politicians in Washington who work for us (yeah right !!) started signing off on Obama care before fully understanding what it was going to do , nice to know they have no problem playing fast and loose with our future and our children's future , how can you just roll out something as important as this and say well lets get it out there and we will fix it as problems pop up !! like they were beta testing a video game !! oh wait I'm sure more research goes into those damn mind numbing video games than went in to Obama care .
I know there was and still is opposition to Obama care, but not enough , as usual the crew in D.C. is more interested in saving their political asses than getting this right.

I'm with Injunbro. There's way more wrong with Obamacare than some lawyers and Insurance companies, although they too share blame.

I disagree 50% .. it was ruined by all the people who decided to misuse those things. Insurance fraud and large law suits wouldn't be such a big deal if the common person simply said 'no'. Doctors issuing unneeded tests and people suing doctors if things don't come out 100% perfect wouldn't be an issue if they had ethics.

And let's not forget that 51% of voters felt Obama had a good idea and didn't listen to what the other 49% were telling them. Things that turned out to be true but were ridiculed by the 51%. We can demonize 'the bad guys' just like Obama does, but in the end, if it's not you then it's one of your neighbor that's partly responsible.

The hugest expense is administrative. Gov't regulations and efforts to prevent lawsuits have raised administrative costs enormously. When I was first taking care of my own medical expenses at age 18, a doctors visit cost $2. I made $2.80 an hour working construction as a laborer.
Now, it cost at least $65 to see a GP for a few minutes. The average citizen may make $10 an hours. The doctor will write a prescription and tell you to check back it two weeks. The prescription might run anywhere from $30 to $300.
Doctors no longer operate their own offices, they belong to corporations that pay their malpractice insurance. That can be exorbitant. as much as a 1/3 for their income, depending on their practice and field of medicine. Corporations buy group malpractice insurance so it is cheaper.
Gov't and the thousands of shysters that file nuisance lawsuits have raised the cost of medical care a great deal.
Then mix in corporations getting gov't regulations and laws passed to increase their profits a great deal, and you have the current nightmare we have now.
Health care needed to be changed but more gov't regulation and control isn't the answer. Obamacare's intent was more about controlling the population that it was about controlling health care costs.

I'm not real good @ math, anyone want to explain how 115% voter turnout for zer0 supporters & 0% of military vote counted had an effect?

I dont dis-agree with ya John, now like I said, I'll admit when i dont know wnuff bout some things(maybe things I really should0. Imma just saying i have seen the way medical care works in other countries, and it seems wonderful. Now maybe it wouldna work here the same, but Osamacare sure a He** wont either.Osama is a crook, tho a smooth talking crook, but a Rose by any other name.....well you know. If I can ever get Astrid to slow down working long enuff, I'lll have her explain it, as she did to me, and it will make more sense. As for my Bro from anuther mother, hes a smart fella, and when he says sumpin, I can take it to da bank n earn interest on it. Mike.
