    Had a little Visitor

One of my daughters lives about 30 miles away. She called Saturday say that she and her husband both had a stomach flu and could we come watch our grandson a couple hours. My wife said pack his bag and we will come get him and keep him for the day. Miles is our only grandchild so far. He is 16 months old and was sick a few days earlier which led to his parents ailment.
We had a blast. First off the Enchanted Playground at the park

This slide was a big hit. My wife and I each took him down it 6 or 7 times

Then off to explore the park

Later, back at my house he chased the dogs, played with some toys then I made him a grilled cheese sandwich. He wanted to explore the house so we cut the sandwich into bite size pieces, sat the plate where he could reach and we let him eat on the go. We laughed as we pictured my daughter wondering why he no longer would sit in his high chair and eat

Got him cleaned up and ready to head home after dinner. My wife took him and said he was asleep in 10 minutes and then he wanted to hang onto grandma when he got home. We must have had a successful “spoiling” session.

So glad it wasn't what I feared when I read your subject line. I was afraid you had a visit from ATF.

Those are great times and excellent memories for all. Glad all had a great time. After all we are supposed to spoil them and then send them back home.

Looks like fun to me! When my grandson was that age, he just wanted to play in the dirt. Trouble was, he didn't want to get his clothes dirty, so he would strip off every stitch and then play with his cars in the dirt. Good thing we live out in the country!
The grandpa business is gooood business!

Ah yes! My 2 GD's just turned 7 & 8 last month. They have been sleeping over grandpa's house since Thanksgiving Day when they were 3 & 4. Their dad came too for moral support but the next morning they announced "we want to sleep over grandpa's house again but this time daddy can stay home"! We nicknamed our sleepovers the Grandpa Sleepover Club back then. They sleep in grandpa's king size bed with grandpa in the middle until they fall asleep then grandpa goes into a spare bedroom. When they are with me all the other "stuff" goes away and we just have fun!
