Does anybody have Altamont grips on their handguns?

I'm just wondering if anybody here has a set of Altamont grips on any of their guns, and especially how they like them or not.

I just bought a set of these as a gift for my pastor. He just got his first Ruger Blackhawk and hated the grips that were on it. I found these and he really likes them for the fit, finish and the looks.

I'm thinking about a set of these for my 1911 on the next payday. they seem to have really high quality work at very reasonable prices.

You're input will be much appreciated.

Yes. I had some that I bought from S & W a few years ago for a nickel-plated Model 19 RB 2 1/2" revolver that I used to have. They looked fantastic!
Unfortunately, one of my buddies thought so, too. Now I don't have them anymore.
    Neither does he.
I would buy them again in a heartbeat.

I put a rosewood combat set on my nickeled M34-1 & a walnut set on my blued 34-1 & liked them so much I bought a walnut set for my new 3" M63. I like them all very much & the price is about 1/2 of comparable grips. I reccommend them to everyone.

I also have some rosewood Altamont Combat and Boot grips for my
M-66-1 2 1/2" for show. I change them for some rubber combat grips for shooting, though. Bob

My dad and my godfather went into business during the mid 1980's, selling Altamont grips at about 5 local gunshow locations. Ken Enright of Altamont makes fantastic grips. He was the first to market with bonded ivory which he molded out of actual ivory dust. He used to buy ivory tusks that had fallen off the elephants and then been eaten away by bugs. They were no good for regular grips and he could buy them cheap. He pulverized the ivory into dust and mixed it with epoxy and then molded the mixture into grips.

His wood and laminated wood grips are terrific. Excellent quality and fit and finish. I saw Altamont at the SHOT Show and they products still look top quality today.

Evan, CDNN has some nice Herret's in Cocobolo for a 1911.......and under $40! I got the ones for a K frame SB, and I like 'em alot! If I owned a SB Nframe or 1911 ......I would get more, but the rest of my guns are round butt. Bob

I have them on two Ruger Vaqueros (my Cowboy Action guns) and am purchasing some for my Model 22A. They are beautiful grips, very well made, and the Altamont people are a pleasure to deal with. I will also be putting some on my Model 15.

Gregory, I bought these a couple of years ago. Gave this gal to a friend who's dad sold his Single Six and he had hoped to inherit it...I'm a sucker for a sad story!
