2213 does not rack all the way

    Greetings folks
    I have a 2213 - little brother to the 422 and 622.

I've cleaned it before with no issues until (queue the suspense music) recently.

I cannot lock my slide open
    It appears that either
    1. The slide doesn't rack all the way back
    2. The lever that would lock the slide doesn't move up

I have ordered a replacement spring should that be a factor, but I can no longer take it apart.

Putting a 22lr shell in the slide doesn't help in removing the piece that allows me to remove the slide..etc

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated

It sounds to me like the safety some how got accidetally forced in the down position and jumped ahead of the sear engagement. Remove the grips and get "or make" a small too or dental hook type of instrument and try to hook the safety from the inside under the left grip panel up into the frame . Pull it down hard and see if it re engages . just a long shot

Also did you try to pull the trigger forward ??

Good morning, Layne12gun - i hope this message finds you and your family well..with a tremendous amount of tp (never thought i'd say that).

To be very transparent, i'm relatively new... i didn't fully understood your suggestions.

Oddly enough i do have a dental tool thanks to my ex (long story), but i'm not quite sure where on the inside i could hook the safety.

Please note : i did pull the trigger forward, but it won't budge

    Thanks again.
