    Smith and Wesson K-38

    Another question i got...

I got myself a S&W K-38 about six months ago. Its a real nice pistol, but everyone i have asked seems to date it 1956 through to '69.

Any ideas how to get a more specific date when it was made?

    Thanks guys

If you would give us the serial number, we can probably narrow it down. It's located on the butt. If you feel funny about giving out serial numbers, just put an 'x' in place of the last two or three digits.

Also a picture is always helpful.

    John1970,
Looks like your gun was made the same year you were... 1970
