    Highway Patrolman

I got the word about a 28-2. The shop wants $449. Shop owner says it is about 90%. Can you give me an idea how the price is? I want to have some idea before I make the drive over to see it. The grips on the gun are not original.

For a 90 percent gun that sounds high. About $100 more then the going rate in my area. The Correct box, tools, paperwork would help some. If the stocks are S&W targets and have the diamonds...that would help some more. If the stocks are Cokes and in excellent shape....the gun is free.

I agree with Giz...too much for a 90% guns. There are a ton of 28-2's around. Keep shopping.

Keep shopping, I agree on the 100 high comment. But,,,
Not in any shop or gun show in the Phoenix area. On line from a reputable dealer, and transfer charges on each end, you would spend less

Saw a very, very nice one sell within a past two weeks for $325. N-serial, No box, but otherwise correct and in fine condition.

People only started buying these because 27's dried up. Now that there are more 27's on the market than I've seen in the past 5 years or so, there are alot of 28's surfacing and at very good prices.

    I'd keep looking.

Good to know that there may be 'affordable' 28's out there. I've seen a few in the Central Florida area, but they all were either beat up pretty badly or were quite pricey for some reason. It seems that certain models have a mystique about them and prices spike for a while- just because. A sweet deal on a 28 sure would be a good find! Good hunting and let everyone know what you find and where. Oh yeah - tell all if you find two!

Another comment, 4" barrels sell for a little more than the 6" and the "snipers" come out in the last hour of many auctions.
