    Need help identifying.38 special

I was left a .38 special from a family member and I need help identifying it. It was apparently their old service revolver. Attached is a photo of the serial number and the gun.

It is a Military and Police snub. Definitely 1948 or later and before 1956. A Pre-Model 10 if you will. This not my area so I will shut-up and read more competent responses.

Not much to add except that its likely from the 48-52 era. Mine has a serial number over 3 million and its a 1955
