    Oil on the ratchet ?

Is there any harm to putting a bit of oil on the ratchet? My trigger pull is Sooo much smoother with a bit of oil there and I cant see an issue with the hand interaction but .. I thought I would ask.

W/ a .22lr. leaving a well-oiled gun loaded can cause powder contamination & fail-to-fire. I've never heard of any problems w/ center fires or .22 MRF.

I don't like oil on the cylinder star because unburnt powder can stick to it and tie up the gun. It happen to me while shooting a S&W model 15, blew off the star and was back in action.

I'll put a very light dab of grease there. Light oil is fine, but doesn't tend to adhere.
