    You know, I'm really surprised.

If some of you don't want to change your password, that's fine. Don't do it.

However, you're walking away from the best forum on the net over a very small deal. Your call though..

You should be changing your passwords frequently. I don't see the big deal here.

I own and operate forums. There are no forums that I associate with that force password changes on a periodic basis. I can certainly understand requiring a complex password. But I wonder why corporate level password requirements are being implemented on a site that is primarily for social Gathering and entertainment. My opinion is that it will deter people from coming back. Particularly those that only come to the site infrequently. I can live with it. But I retired from it almost 10 years ago.

BC, I'm trying to find out the answer to that. However, the way I read it, I think you can do it now or wait for the email to come out. But I don't think you'll have to do it twice.

As far as having to change passwords, it's only going to be once a year. I have to do it monthly at work.

Ok, here's the skinny on this. Next week, everyone will be prompted to change their password. After that, on a yearly basis, you'll have to change it again. If you want, you can change it now but I suggest just waiting until you're prompted to.

I tried to change mine as directed and it said I couldn't do it as I had not entered the correct password. Guess I'll wait for the e-mail and try again, maybe.

    I agree with Guy ........

" I wonder why corporate level password requirements are being implemented on a site that is primarily for social Gathering and entertainment "

Maybe some of us are wearing tinfoil hats that are getting to tight.

IIRC .... wasn't there a computer scam several years ago that started like this >>>> Attention - Password and Security Update

    And what's next ..... Only " Supporting Members " can post/view Photos maybe ?????

At work after computers took over ..... I had to change my password every 30 days to a corporate approved configuration .... and then I had to

help 4+ of my co workers change theirs ( until they finally learned to do it themselves ).

I have finally scrapped out my Dos/Windows 3.1 , Windows 98 , and Windows ME . I am still using my Windows Vista and my Windows XP because

some of my expensive hardware/software is not supported by Windows 7 . I didn't fall for Windows 8 or 8.1 and I won't be " Upgrading " to

Windows 10 and the " cloud ", until I need a totally new computer .... maybe.

    end of rant :

I'll just wait until the one I have doesn't work , then change it. Once a year won't put too much strain on my dwindling memory.

Does anyone know the profile of hackers that break passwords to social gun related sites?
