    Cimarron "Patton"

I picked up something frivolous, but fun yesterday...

    Cimarron (Pietta) SAA in .45LC

I've been wanting to pick up an SAA, something fun in a "Texas BBQ" sort of way. Rugers are great shooters, but just don't feel right in the hand. I didn't want to spend the money on a Colt, since I do want to shoot it, but I didn't want a transfer bar, or other new gimmicks. SAAs should click four times on cocking, and this particular Pietta/Cimarron does.

This one is the "Gen. Patton" variant, but the only nod to old Blood and Guts is the lanyard ring and the grips. Otherwise it's just a 4 3/4 nickel SAA with 'engraving'. And the laser engraving actually looks pretty good, though it's clearly not traditional engraving. The lanyard ring is coming off, and the grips will get changed out eventually.

Now I need to dig out my .45LC loading gear, which hasn't been used in almost 25 years!

    WOW !!!!

I'd leave it exactly the way it is and shoot the snot out of it. It's beautiful, and practically built for the purpose.

    Cool 45LC Fun!

    Hey R Man,

Sweeet. If the bore would be "rough" (mine was) it will "fire lap" out in just a few shots.

May have had a problem with the plating?

I use 7.2 to 7.5gr Universal Clays under a 255gr LSWC for excellent result.

I won this one in '17 at the ARMOR EXPRESS PIN SHOOT in the 8 Pin Event.

    Later, Mark

So, ever since I bought this gun I've felt that something was wrong...

Nature was out of balance... the Universe was out of whack...

Sam Colt's 3rd Law states that 4 3/4" SAAs (even reps ) shall only exist in pairs!

Since Nature abhors a vacuum, there was only one thing I could do...

Still hunting for the right leather for the pair, and I have some plans regarding the grips...
