    Early Christmas...

Since I have only my son and his wife to buy Christmas for, I decided to spoil myself with a little early present. Found this on Guns International in used but nice condition but that was what I was looking for as I needed a shooter in 44-40. Just got it yesterday, so no range report yet.

The two new Uberti 44-40s I have both broke with less than 100 rounds fired between them so I was looking for something better. Standard Mfg. has quit taking orders on their 44-40 models…said they were too backed up on 45s, so I went looking and found this Colt.

Anybody else getting or giving a gun or two for Christmas?

Nothing this year for me. Then I got a email from GT distributors and pre ordered a Glock 44 22lr pistol on 22 December. It seemed to be a good price and I am in no hurry to get it so sometime in late January or early February it will arrive. Really didn't need it- just wanted it.

I got myself a gift also but not a nice as Arkie’s. Pietta made an exclusive edition .45 Colt for Cabela’s which recently went on sale. It is the transfer bar type and the fit and finish are not the best but the price was too good to pass on.

Great looking revolver and a fine addition to the stable. Keep us up to date after you go to the range. Congrats!

Gave oldest Grandson the Mossberg 183T 410 Bolt. He shot it and fell in love with it. I should mention too he really like bolt actions.

Looks like fine Christmas presents! We normally do little if anything for presents here. We do Birthday presents but typically Christmas what we would spend goes to charity.
