No worries! Bernie the communist is back on track!

Well, the heart attack did not stop him. On to the presidency.

He is much like Hillary. Driven by envy. Now that Hillary is not dead broke, the presidency is all she needs.

    Bernie wants money, or specifically:OPM.

Other People’s Money. Bernie says there should not be billionaires. So, he proposes to steal their money, to buy votes.

I think a lot of people on this forum are millionaires. They have no pensions, public or private or they are so small, you cannot live off them. Like a lot of you, we denied ourselves the luxury of new vehicles, although we had only two vehicles that hit 200K miles. You have to have money invested so that 3% interest or less on that money can pay the bills. Spending the principal is toxic to keeping it going.

The millionaire next door? Yes, I never coined that term. My brother was that frugal guy. He left my sister in law in great shape after he died. She still lives an undemanding life. She could live anywhere. Buy a multi-million dollar house. Travel. She does not. Her frugal ways helped build wealth.

A lot of you are like that. My son (now, at 24) is getting it. Learning to have financial freedom, by not spending money. I am really proud of him.

My point is, Bernie will go after the billionaires first. Votes will be purchased and then, more money will be needed to get votes, multi-millionaires will be tapped.

Then, the rest of us. It never ends.

I do wonder if the Bernie supporters will ever “get it”?

The “rich” will be soaked. The “intellectuals” will be tapped to support “the people’s rights” till they are not needed. Then, they will be flushed down the toilet, like the rest.

Gold, silver and guns. Is there one democrat currently running that is unwilling to sell out this country? Or any republicans? 22 trillion dollars squandered. More on the way.
Don't be so open minded your brains fall out.

    Silvertip NAILED IT.
There WILL BE some sort of "needs test" applied to Social Security very soon.
If you're one of those people Silvertip mentioned who lived frugally, saved money, made smart investments and yea...got a little lucky now and then, you arrive at retirement with a decent "nest egg" to AUGMENT your EARNED SS benefit, you stand an excellent chance of being told "you don't NEED that monthly check".
Your neighbor...the guy who made the same amount of money that you did...but kept himself up with the Joneses...buying a new car every couple years, a boat, vacationing all over the country, etc, etc. THAT guy arrives at retirement with not much to show for himself so poor old Bubba NEEDS his full monthly benefit. Problem is...there ain't enough for both of you, so guess who will lose..???

It's already started folks. There's a quiet effort to disgrace the "millionaires and billionaires" who have the AUDACITY to accept the SS benefit THEY EARNED. The benefit they WERE PROMISED when the Federal government STOLE their earnings over their entire working life with the promise that IF they live long enough...they would get some of it back. No "needs test" was ever mentioned in that deal but if we ever turn our country over to one of these looney-azz wackadoodle Democrat's there will be and a lot of us will be feeling pretty foolish that we didn't just go ahead and live it up and let our neighbors worry about how to take care of us.

But... don't forget dear Leona Helmsley. She famously said "Only the little people pay taxes..." and it's probably only because of the related publicity that she got caught.

The average person can't avoid paying taxes, but the extremely wealthy routinely and legally avoid taxation. Billionaires will not be paying more taxes, they will be deftly avoiding them regardless of what Bernie says.

It's done through what is effectively corrupt influence of the government, financing campaigns and then lobbying for special exceptions, exemptions, rules and laws that allow avoidance of taxes.

If you've managed, through a life long application of frugality, savings and simple tastes, to accumulate enough money for a secure and continuous retirement, you're probably not one of these super-wealthy influential individuals. You don't have the means to move the money off shore into anonymous accounts through multiple foreign shill corporations, not for profit organizations, foundations or other mechanisms. If you can't hide it, you'll pay taxes on it.

Never forget that all the tax deferred savings looks good sitting in the IRA accounts, but it's on the record, linked to your social security number and ripe for Democrat "OPM" picking. In fact it is a huge basket of low hanging fruit for these socialists to mine at will. They can't wait to get their hands on it.

"But it's mine!", you say... Well if you'd have paid 18% on it when you earned it, count on paying 35% taxes on it when you withdraw it under Democrat rule. That's a very simple change in law targeting "the rich" that happened to scrimp and save all their lives instead of living them on credit or welfare.

Anyone with any level of security or comfort in their lives through responsible living is at risk. The sooner everyone understands this, the better. The middle Americans that routinely swing elections are the ones most at risk. And the people in the middle without savings or security that want to live responsibly will likely give up in the face of higher taxes and the siren song of government transfer payments.

"Big government" starts with cynical corrupt politicians having access to too much money, turning influence into "power" currency. Political money has no value unless you leverage it as power. Both conservatives and liberals follow this principal. The difference is that by embracing socialism, the Democrat political machine sees a viable faster path to power.

I think Crazy Bernie's heath has doomed any chance of securing the nomination.

Crazy Bernie singlehandedly brought the democrat party out of the socialist closet. I think Washington democrats were stunned that Crazy Bernie got 45% of the democrat primary vote. Before that, democrats at least tried to mask their socialist agenda.

The Taxation Plan is in force now. Until 8-2-19 my wife worked at a $45K per year job. She is 10 years younger than me. Because of Obummer's economics I found myself retired at 62, but not because I wanted to, but because of the economy. For 10 years, I've paid standard income tax on 85% of my Social Security benefit check because my wife worked.

Part 2 of the Government Plan is another good deal. In 1970 when I went into the Air Force, it was hammered into us that we would always have health care from the VA because of "our service to our country". I was an aircraft mechanic from 1970 to 1974. I always bought private health insurance or had employer health insurance for my working career. In 1970 my income went from $160 per week to $115 per month, and my wife paid more in Federal income tax each month than I earned in the AF.

For the last 10 years, I am denied VA health benefits because: 1] I never was in South Viet Nam or any other "combat zone" ; 2] the "Family Income" is too high to qualify for VA Benefits . Oh, I'm very proud to have served my country. I did get a VA guaranteed mortgage to buy our first house in 1979 without having a 20% down payment.

I think Bernie was 'cooked' before he had ticker issues. He has his devout base but that is about it and that won't propel him to the nomination.

I also believe that Bernie is the biggest hypocrite of all of them with Warren running a close second.

The dems have been after your 401k and your IRA for years now. They want to TAKE IT and give you a return around 4% per year but that may be less now. For SS it's a toxic subject for now but if the dems get total power all three branches look out. As far as Bernie I don't think he will make it through the dem primary, his health is against him now. All that jealousy and hatred has caught up with him. That's what rules the DemocRATS, jealousy and hatred. You, You didn't build that.

I've been around money people / family all my life, and none of them were what I considered as happy. Miserable was more like it. I am satisfied as being poor.
