Hello from Texas,
I’ve been an avid shooter for years but never owned a Smith & Wesson before.....so here is my first one.
It’s a model 66 recently acquired from a friend that is downsizing his collection. Pictured with my Ruger Montado.....they look together. I didn’t have a lot of info on model 66 revolvers but now after a little research I believe I found a good choice for my first S&W

Welcome from NE Georgia. That 66 looks to be in real good shape and should be an excellent shooter. It is a very preferred model as it is the stainless model 19. Also looks to be an early model no dash with the Stainless rear sight. Believe they changed it to black so easier to see after a year or two of production.

Welcome to the forum. You have very good taste in revolvers.

The Model 66 is a wonderful "K Frame" revolver. It's got the ejector shroud on a heavy barrel, giving it very good balance.

The older ones like yours were well made. These were crafted by skilled gunsmiths.

Howdy, neighbor! Welcome to the forum.

Great shooting gun, stainless so upkeep will be a breeze. Like that little Montado - looks like a fun one to have, too.

The rounds should be just fine as long as they aren't showing any corrosion. A little lead oxide on the exposed lead parts isn't an issue. $12 for 50 rounds - $.24 a round for .357 magnum .... about half what they cost today.
