    Law Enforcement did not abandoned the model 39 9mm . When the model 59 9mm came out and after the New Jersey shooting with the Styer Pistol holding 18 rounds most agencies went to the Higher Capacity 9 mm. There is nothing wrong with the Model 39. Some of the first models only shoot ball ammo but that was corrected. Illinois State Police carried them well into the 70'sName:  DSCF3486.JPG
