    Greetings from AZ.

Just registered in this forum today. Back into shooting and home protection after a 20+ year dry spell. Found an almost new MP-9c at a local shop at such a price I couldn't say no. Good shooter, just got back from the range. Overall, I like it. Boy, do I need practice. Used to shoot regularly when I lived in PA, out here in AZ, not so much. This is my first S&W ever! Hope to visit often and learn a few things.

Welcome to the forum. The M&P 9 series, including the compact, are fine pistols. It should give you a life of good service.

You're better off training than practicing. Training involves getting some feedback, and working out a plan to improve incrementally. Practice can solidify incorrect habits, and cause many problems.

If you have a friend that can observe you and help you improve step by step, that's a good way to start again.

If you're near a club that teaches the NRA course series, it's always a good idea to refresh the basics. Safety in all things.

When I coach, I tend to prioritize what I observe, and then help a shooter focus on one thing at a time. When that gets better, it's on to the next thing. Yes - there are always more things to work on.

Talk about Your guns. Talk about life and just be comfortable. There isn't a bunch of Mods to be fussing at you because you said one item had a lower production number and somebody screams it's political!
I'm in Georgia, USA and I have passed thru Arizona. Kinda alright to me and lower humidity, but not a lot of Old Oak Shade trees!
